Hi all,
Had a brief look round a small piece of oak and birch woodland near me and it was crowded with fungi!

Several species of Lactarius and Russula were apparent along with a solitary specimen of Amanita Citrina. Also there was some 'puffing' Lycoperdon Perlatum and hundreds of Amethyst Deceivers amongst other things. I'm going to take another look there at the weekend.

Ya...the season still going great in western coast of Canada too

The Pine mushrooms and chants are all over the place and there's a convenient buying station located close to one of my favorite hunting spots. Wish I wasn't so busy with work, so I could spend all week hunting

I thought it was over here in WI, but we have finally have had some rain
over the last 2 weeks, [Aug and Sept rainfall was like a record low]
Found a few Bears Heads yesterday.
The Shaggy manes are still coming, and large tan oysters are starting.
We also found the first of the season ringless honeys.

It hasn't been quite as wet as I'd like, but it's been warmish & there calling for more rain tonight ( it's actually Friday the 29th 1400h est even thouth the post date says the 30th) so there's hope still. The competition for edibles is good with the old Europeans & the local mycological society bunch. Honey mushrooms have been coming out, maybe they're all gone now.

Things are slowing down now, about 30 species identified on Sunday, a couple Suillus, graveli & 1 other Suillus, some Lepista & Cortinarus. There were lots of Hypholoma capnoides. That was the last foray with the local mycological society but I'll still try a few more spots in the next week or 2.

Went out with my mycology group on Saturday and I wouldn't be surprised if we were over the 150 species mark- the season is still going strong here!!
