Well here is one of my favorite pics from this years mushroom season.. Its an unidentified and possible new species of aminita found on the east coast.

Nice pic c.
Hard to tell by that pic, but you might have a Amanita flavoconia or Amanita parcivolvata there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I should have taken a shot of it from some other angles. I was unable to identify this species, but of course the majority of all mushroom species are not listed in any guides and not not studied too much. I actually showed that photo to someone who knows aminitas well and he was unsure to an exact species but says it's an Aminita for sure.

i believe thats an amanita muscaria Var. Its in other words a yellow fly agaric. Its main chemicals are ibotenic acid which when dry converts into muscimol but be care if your going to ingest because the shroom also contains amanitin which is deadly in large amounts. Happy hunting!
