Does freezing them kill off 'the good stuff', and how long will they last for if I don't dry them out? I got colombians.
Did I steal the bike for exercise fun? no. It is not my fault your hand is a beefball.

I think there is a different shelf life for different species.White button(agaricus) about 10 days - 2 weeks. Oysters (pleurotus) start looking like crap after one week . So the question needs to be a little more specific.
Peace
I would rather have a bottle in front of me,
Than a frontal lobodomy

I assume you're talking about "cubes". Drying is the only preservation method I've heard of, as for shelf life of fresh ones, I don't have a clue.
Try Mycotopia, Sporelab, or the Shroomery for magic mushroom info. I think most of the members here are more interested in edibles.

I read somewhere that the Myan indians would preserve them, (and important dead people) in honey.
At least I think I have read that somewhere.

I think that bee honey is the only natural food that doesn't rot. It will crystalize, but all you have to do is heat it up and it is as good as new.

yep
