I have spent a load of manhours researching who sells the perfect mason jars and I have failed miserably. From what I can tell the most popular Canadian manufacturer (Bernardin) does not sell the 250 ml, tapered wide-mouth canning jars. Their model 30250 is the perfect size [250 ml] but a less than ideal shape [straight rather than tapered]. Their model 20125 is the opposite-ideal shape but less than ideal size. Bernardin sells a striaght taller mason jar that is the standard jelly jar, but I would rather begin with the best equipment possible. Sure, loonie stores sell tapered glasses for only a buck each, but i like the concept of a perfect-fitting screw on lid that bernardin sells [and one has to bore a large hole in] to affix the aluminum foil.
Kerr/ball apparently makes the prefect jar. But where in the Lower mainland of BC are they sold? Repliers please mention product number, specifications and as much detail on retail store location as possible. I could maybe find by mail-order, but I don't really want to pay postage or retail prices of specialty mushroom cultivation shops.
