I am about to purchase some Shitake mushroom dowels. To install onto logs. Can anyone advise if I can make my own dowels? With medium (spawn)? from the fruited mushrooms that hopefully will grow on the logs? Is this an easy exercise to do? I am a complete novice in the mushroom field. Just starting to learn. All advice, suggestions welcomed. Thanks

yes it's not difficult. You have to obtain a grain spawn than inocule pasteurized wood plugs than inocule what you want with them.

Make a little trial before proceding (you cannot know if you're into the replicate fading)
