Mushroom Events: The Third International Medicinal Mushroom Conference

The 3rd International Medicinal Mushroom Conference is to be held October 12th - 17th, 2005 in Port Townsend, Washington. The mission of these continuing conferences is to promote the understanding of mushrooms in medicine and in the environment. With the increasing attention centering on the medicinal properties of mushrooms, this event seeks to bring together experts throughout the world. As an international community, the exchange of ideas is critical for advancing this unique field of study.
This event will be held in the conference center at the historic Fort Worden near Port Townsend, Washington, on the eastern edge of the Olympic Peninsula. The close proximity to virgin Old Growth forests will provide a unique opportunity of foraying into some of the most ancient woodlands of the world. The timing of the conference has been selected so that the wild mushroom season will be at its peak. This event promises to not only be academically interesting, but to be visually and empirically rich. Mushrooms from around Victoria on display. There may be T-shirts, taste tests, or other surprises. Bring mushrooms so that experts can try to identify them.
