Hey ,
just wondering if I am the only disc throwing mycophile out there. It is a great game/sport .It is something that you don't have to be the best at to have fun .Plus getting out walking thru the woods I find all sorts of fungi .

Peace

Sometimes I pass through the disk golf course in one of our local parks. I see people playing there sometimes. I find that it usually is a good place to look around for mushrooms. I have played disk golf in a past some but i was never really great at it. I would try again but right now I cant think of anyone around my area to play with.

For those of you who are not familiar with disc golf , here is a disc golf site . This site also has a course directory , which will help find a course in your area. This is not an attempt to sell anything .I am just trying to share something I enjoy. Most disc golf courses are free to play and the people I have met while playing have been very nice .The sport is not just for the young .YOu don't have to be good at it to enjoy it .It is great exercise . And it gives you reason to walk around aimlessly in the woods .
Plus due to the fact I play all year long , I am able to monitor the natural fungi in the area.

Hey check this out and let me know what you think .

Disk is great, there are a couple courses in the area (GTA) but it's been a while. Ultimate is gaining popularity as well, I should try & get off my ass & get back into it. Ever play guts?

I'm only a few years shy of you there funguy, & it's been a while since I've played guts. Sometimes the aches & pains catch up to me too, but I'm fighting it & luckily most of my joint pain is when I burn my fingertips
How'd the tourney work out? No golf here in Toronto, just lots of snow.
Cheers

I like to refer to it as "venting my frustration". Good to hear you made it through unscathed, that wind must have made things interesting. Have you ever thought of using an Aerobie for golf? Those suckers can go a long way, I lost one when it ended up on the roof of a factory about 250 yards away. A friend & I were standing at opposite ends of a football field playing catch & the wind got hold of it.
Cheers

I have played the disc golf course in Pasadena, CA, next to JPL many years ago. It is a fun game to play outside. It does take some practice, though. Laughing
