Thank you Psy,
I am not much a photographer ,nor did I have much a camera. These pics came from behind an old girl friends apartment building .The place was full of all kinds of fungi. A myco heaven ,if you will .There were numerous of these sulpur shelf.I have never eaten any of these .I here they are real good when they are young. This place also had an abundance of chanterelles.I am not at my best when identifying .I am a cultivator. But ,I am learning .I have a few more pics from this walk when these were taken. If anyone would care to see them.

Cool finds, first one reminds me a lot of the "chicken of the woods" or a close relative. Note the color of your specimen looks a little faded which can be a sign that it is past its prime picking age.
Here is a pic of some that I found earlier this season. I never got around to eating any although I did sample a small piece (didnt swallow the piece) and the flavor/texture was great. That same day I also found some Lion's Main (Hericium).

Did you eat the hericium? I found some small specimens on the disc golf course this fall. These were a little larger than golf balls.I am a pain to others when I play because ,I find so many fungi on the course.I am really looking forward to the spring .We just built a new disc golf course in Appomattox Virginia .Alot of trees were taken down and just laid to the ground .This place had a lot of fungus before we touched it . I am sure with the added food (rotting trees) ,the mycorrhizal happening could be peaking if mother nature does her part.

I did eat some of the hericium. It was pretty good too, I gently fried some up with butter and added vegtables. I would only eat the pure white specimens. I've heard reports that they develop a sour taste in age or as they discolor.
I had to take a pic when I was cooking it, just cause it looked so good.

Yea they do tend to lose some size, I only cooked a small portion of the hericium cluster though, there was a lot left over and eventually I had to toss it outside because I couldnt eat it all before it spoiled.
