Today I found the Destroying Angel (didn't eat it)The Shaggy mane the Field mushroom the Horse mushroom and some strange ones I'm not sure of.
Some sort of Russula but I'm not sure could have been a cracked green.
A couple more Boletes too but most were beaten down by the rain.
I will try again on Sunday morning after they have had time to recover.
One of my Boletes is very dark...not Birch or Bay it may be Porcini?
I didn't bring my camera it was raining when I went out.
The Shaggy mane were amazing especially the young ones that did not start turning black yet.
I cooked the young ones first then the older ones.
I was so excited about the Shaggy Manes I forgot to start an agar culture and just cooked them all!
Argghhh!!!
I'm sure I will find more.
I think I will forage during the mild weather and culture during the winters.
I have a huge maple log I'm going to infect with king oyster and leave outside next to the Shitakie logs.
I'm planning on cutting it into 1 foot sections pressure cooking them for a couple hours and adding agar disks from plates between each section.
I may put a different species between each section and see who wins.
Oyster Enokie Shitakie Turkey Tail.
Anyway I'm rambling.
Happy hunting people
Peter

Have you thought about drilling holes in those logs & innoculating with spawn plugs?
Good luck with your grow.

I've thought about doing something like Shiitake or oyster logs have you had any luck with them so far?

I won't know that till the spring. I've got some logs innoculated with Shitake. Working with logs takes a while, but maintainence is low & yields can be high.

I got a few logs outside right now.
I also bought a bunch of plugs and will make them oyster spawn.
Everything's kinda on hold till I get the spare room done though.
