we have had lots on our yard over the years and starting about 3 weeks ago they came again. it rained for a week 2 weeks ago which started em off, then it was cloudy/sunny till yesterday. we got some good showers yesterday now they have shot up overnight. most are about 1" wide but i saw a couple that were 3 3/4" inches wide! i picked a large bucket full, and only picked the perfect ones as i have enough to be picky. earlier today before i picked them the crows had their rounds as well. i would say there is at least 15 pounds in our front yard, which is only about 20 by 20 meters.

its gonna be a feast tonight

I get Fairy Ring champignons growing in my garden as well, a couple of weeks back i did pick some and fry them. The thing is though I deont really like them after the last time- their flavour doesn't agree with me. For me personally I reckon they would be better dried then crushed to a powder.

i agree, they arent that great tasting. i use them to add to other stuff. i tried some different ways of frying them. i found that frying in butter and some sort of garlic seasoning salt was best. probably not much better than chips then, but tasty.
