We recently acquired some land, and much to my delight, we have a few small patches of Chanterelles growing in some of the mossy, wooded areas on our property. However, there are only enough mushrooms for a bit of a teasing taste. I recall hearing somewhere that if I pick a couple of the mushrooms, break them up, and scatter them amongst the moss, that it will help propagate them because the spores will be scattered. Is that true? And if so, will I see results next year, or does it take longer than that?
